XDNA is a proof of work / proof of stake cryptocurrency that uses the Keccak algorithm. XDNA features a second layer network of masternodes for private and almost instantaneous transactions. It also features BitGun, which promises dynamically changed block rewards and offers a dual mining mode in Claymore's miner option.

XDNA foundation is the name of a charitable enterprise associated with the coin.

There was a hard fork of XDNA in 2019, after block 682500. The changes this brought about included the addition of the proof of stake algorithm, deposit sizes for masternodes changed to 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 XDNA coins. Block reward improved to 8 coins per block. The split for remuneration changed to these proportions: POS 10%, LightMN 10%, MediumMN 5% and FullMN 50% of block reward.

Total supply changed to 21,000,000, down from 80,620,000.
